打噴嚏、發高燒、臉色蒼白……蔬菜們接二連三的生病住院。
沒有人知道到底發生了什麼事？
這起事件，驚動了蔬菜中央情報局。
於是，派出了蘿蔔和馬鈴薯探員合力調查。
經過調查後發現，生病的蔬菜都接觸過水！
而這些水，是山坡上一座冒著紫煙的工廠排放出來的。
蔬菜們非常生氣，組了一支「蔬菜勇士隊」，
準備前進工廠揪出真兇……
到底誰是幕後主謀？蔬菜們會用什麼方式讓兇手認罪呢？

因為發展工業造成的環境污染，乍聽之下好像跟孩子們的生活距離很遙遠，不是發生在身邊的事情，但要讓孩子知道的是──工廠造成的水源與土壤污染，會栽種出受汙染的農作物，最後變成各項食品或食材被買回家，要是被汙染的食物被我們吃下肚子，導致身體生病，這可就跟我們很相關了！
電視新聞上，時常會播出人們為了環境汙染的問題而群起抗議，不過這一本《蔬菜生氣了！—我們不要喝汙水！》要講述的故事內容，顧名思義，不是吃下汙染食物的人類要抗議，而是一大群蔬菜們！沒錯，這一次，不等人類發聲，蔬菜們先生氣了！
在這一個作品裡，作者把蔬菜們都擬人化了，用一種蔬菜的世界觀來描述──故事裡頭的蔬菜，不但會有打噴梯、發高燒、臉色蒼白等生病的症狀，甚至住進了醫院。畫面中可以看到，蔬菜們不只嘴裡含著溫度計，還會坐輪椅、打點滴，甚至有蔬菜拿著復健用的助行器在走路的畫面，實在是太有趣了！
而在發現蔬菜們生病的案情不單純後，﹝蔬菜中央情報局﹞（對，竟然還有這組織！）決定派出探員調查，最後更組成「蔬菜勇士隊」前去逮捕工廠老闆，並加以審判，懲罰方式則是……請工廠老闆喝下被汙染的水！？ (哎呀，現實生活中若是也用這種方法，肯定沒有人敢偷排放工業汙水了呀……)種種充滿童趣想像的橋段安排，肯定會讓小朋友讀來覺得很有意思。
希望透過這樣創意的故事，讓孩子從小就明白保護環境的重要性，並且認知到：自己任何一個不當的決定和行為，其實不只關係到自己，影響範圍很可能會擴及到周邊的環境、影響他人及生態環境。因此，大到排放工業汙水，小至在河邊、海邊亂丟垃圾，都是不可以的唷！（搞不好改天也會出現﹝河川正義聯盟﹞派來的「魚蝦勇士隊」呢……）
作者簡介
克勞帝奧．哥貝提（Claudio Gobbetti）
出生在義大利的福利尼諾。畢業於烏爾比諾大學的文學和哲學專業。畢業後，他在米蘭獲得了創作碩士學位。他曾在義大利最有名的廣告公司擔任創意經理，榮獲許多義大利和國際獎項。他目前是一名作家、電視創意總監和米蘭美術學院的大學教授。近年致力於兒童文學，創作了許多兒童讀物，其作品以豐富的想像力和創造力著稱，為孩子構思了許多教育主題相關繪本，期許能讓孩子在閱讀中成長，已在法國、英國，西班牙，加拿大，韓國，土耳其，希臘等多個國家出版。
