If something inappropriate happens, people around you will face it with an attitude of nothing to do with yourself. When no one comes forward to stop it, inappropriate things and behaviors are likely to gain an inch, affecting a wider range and even hurting more people. What I thought at first had nothing to do with me, and one day it will threaten my life step by step
Through this story, children can learn to put themselves in others' shoes and understand that when unfair things happen, they also have a responsibility in the group. It is a choice to be silent or to stand up. Different choices will have different consequences for themselves and for the group.
About the Author
Géraldine Collet was a history teacher and taught for fourteen years. She only started trying to write children's books after she had two daughters. Today, Geraldine is a full-time writer, author of as many as sixty popular children's books in French, some of which have been translated into multiple languages. She has traveled to many countries and currently lives in Saint-Quentin, France.

有一隻小松鼠，早上看見野狼在森林散步，並沒有警告大家。因為他待在樹上，一點危險也沒有。
野狼停下腳步，把野黑莓全都吃光光，小松鼠什麼都沒說，因為他的榛果野狼並沒有吃。接著，野狼又吃掉了一隻胖嘟嘟的小豬，小松鼠還是什麼都沒說，反正他又不是那種圓滾滾的動物。後來，野狼再吃掉一隻小綿羊時，小松鼠仍然保持沉默，反正他也不是那種毛捲捲的小動物。
等到小松鼠看見野狼開始吃榛果時，他才有點著急地出聲制止野狼。沒想到野狼想了一會兒，決定轉而撲向小松鼠，讓小松鼠大聲求救。
小松鼠該怎麼辦呢？其他動物會和小松鼠一樣袖手旁觀，還是會有動物願意伸出援手呢？
若有不當的事情發生，周圍的人都以事不關己的態度面對，無人出面制止時，不當的事情、行為很有可能得寸進尺，影響更大的範圍，甚至傷害更多人。當初以為的與我無關，總有一天也會一步步威脅到自己的生活。
當別人需要幫助，我們可以適時伸出援手，讓每個人都能因為獲得幫助的美好經驗，轉化成為下一次互助的動力，讓社會、世界存在溫暖的熱心以及伸張公義的勇氣。
透過這則故事，讓孩子學習設身處地為人著想，明白不公平之事的發生時，身在群體中的自己也有一份責任，默不作聲或挺身而出，都是一種選擇。而不同選擇，對自己、對群體，將產生不同的後果。
