The tanuki group living in Tama, Tokyo, lived a stable life for a long time. Because it is a very convenient place for them to live near human homes. As long as there are rice fields or dry fields, they can catch frogs, locusts, and moles, and also pick up some persimmons or mulberries; food is much more abundant than in the mountains. But one day, things changed. Human beings are moving out, and more and more empty houses. The houses were then demolished and the raccoons were driven from their habitat. They have no choice but to snatch food in various forests and mountainous areas. The place where they originally lived will be built into a new large-scale town, which is the "Tama New Town Project."
In order to fight against the humans who plundered the land where they lived, the raccoons decided to practice the skills of their ancestors that were almost forgotten. However, human beings are stronger than them after all. Gradually, some raccoons moved away, but some raccoon finally learned the transformation skills and integrated into humans. However, a few years have passed, and the living space of the raccoons has been increasingly destroyed by humans, and even the forest is about to be razed! 住在東京多摩的狸群有很長一段時間都過著平穩的生活。因為人類的住家附近對牠們而言是相當方便居住的地方。只要有稻田或旱田，就能捉到青蛙、蝗蟲和鼴鼠，也可以撿些柿子或桑葚；食物比山裡來得豐富很多。但是某一天，事情有了變化。人類陸續搬走，空屋變多了。然後那些房屋遭到拆除，狸群被驅離了棲息地。牠們只好在各個森林、山區裡搶奪食物。而牠們原本居住的地方，將被打造成新的大型城鎮，也就是「多摩新市鎮計畫」。
為了要跟掠奪牠們生存的土地的人類對抗，狸群們決定修行快被遺忘的老祖先技能。然而人類的力量終究比牠們高強，漸漸地有的狸家族搬離此地，但也有的狸總算學會了變身技巧，並且融入人類之中。不過幾年過去了，狸群的生活空間被人類破壞得越來越嚴重，甚至連森林都要被夷平！多摩的狸群終於按捺不住怒火，決定挺身在人類面前發出反擊!!碰碰狸跟人類的戰爭將會是……
