The story begins with a blue-eyed, brown-skinned boy and his mother enjoying yellow flowers in a green grassy field, with his father riding a horse nearby and a lighthouse on the distant coast. The text describes the seasonal colors, sounds, and smells: spring is lemon juice and sun flakes in the garden, colors are green and yellow, summer is blue coral and emerald sea, autumn is brown cinnamon and almond, and The white snow in winter and the evergreen fir forests... Dianne White is an
American picture book writer and children's poetry writer. What she likes best is a heavy rain. When she was in middle school, she lived in the Philippines, and the sound of raindrops hitting the tin roof could be heard in her ears when she was doing homework; when she was in high school, she lived on the eleventh floor of an apartment in Hong Kong, and she liked to overlook the heavy rain washing the streets and alleys of the city. All this was unforgettable for her. Diana now lives in Gilbert, Arizona, USA. In this small town in the desert, she can occasionally enjoy various rainy scenes in her memory.

戴安娜・懷特(Dianne White)
美國繪本作家與童詩作家，精通法語、西班牙語、中文等多國語言。她最喜歡的是一場酣暢淋漓的大雨。中學時，她住在菲律賓，寫作業時耳邊傳來雨點打在鐵皮屋頂的聲音；高中時，她住在香港一棟公寓的十一樓，她喜歡俯瞰大雨沖刷著城市的大街小巷，這一切都讓她難忘。戴安娜現在居住在美國亞利桑那州吉伯特市，在這座沙漠中的小城鎮，她偶爾也能享受記憶中的各種雨景。
繪者簡介
費希塔・莎拉（Felicita Sala）
1981年出生於羅馬，童年時舉家到澳洲定居，大學就讀西澳大利亞大學哲學系。她是一位自學出身的藝術家，為許多圖畫書繪製插畫，包括獲選《紐約時報》年度最佳十本圖畫書之一的《She Made a Monster》，還有為兒童自寫自畫的《花園街10號》，並參與動畫製作。目前她跟家人住在義大利羅馬。
