Introduction to the author and illustrator
John Rocco is
an American Caldecott Silver Medal winner, a well-known picture book writer and illustrator. Born in Rhode Island in 1967, graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York. His first job was fishing for clams on a fishing boat in Rhode Island when he was 11 years old. When he grew up, he worked as an art director in the entertainment industry for many years. He started writing children's picture books in 2005, and his first book won the Hakata Shoten Original Sound Picture Book Award; "Power Outage!" ” also won the Caldecott Silver Medal, as well as many awards such as Best Picture Book of the Year from Publishers Weekly, Wall Street Journal, School Library Journal, and Kirkus Reviews.

約翰．洛可 John Rocco
美國凱迪克銀牌獎得主，知名繪本作家、插畫家。1967年出生於羅德島，羅德島設計學院、紐約視覺藝術學院畢業。第一份工作是11歲時在羅德島的漁船上負責撈蛤蜊，長大後在娛樂產業擔任藝術總監多年。2005年開始從事兒童繪本創作，第一本就一舉奪下博多書店原聲繪本獎；《停電了！》更榮獲凱迪克銀牌獎，以及《出版人週刊》、《華爾街日報》、《學校圖書館期刊》、《柯克思書評》年度最佳繪本等多項大獎。
