It is the companion reading practice to the Basic Chinese 500 Budding Reader. This set of Treasure Box stories include all 100 words taught in the Budding Reader level and most of the words taught in the Beginning Reader level, Each story is about 20 pages long. 萌芽級寶貝盒共有五冊故事書，是「基礎漢字500」萌芽級的配套閱讀練習。這套寶貝盒包含了萌芽級所教授的全部100個生字和啟蒙級的大部份漢字。另外更有10%的新生字，讓小朋友為躍進級的學習打下基礎。
萌芽級寶貝盒每個故事的篇幅約為20頁。全部故事內容的中文字均註有普通話拼音及英文翻譯。在每篇故事的後面摘錄了故事中出現過且超越萌芽級的生字，約3-5個。每個生字亦以九宮格的形式清楚展示，並附漢語拼音。
